Name: Jessica Hart
Aussie Hometown: Melbourne
U.S. Digs: NYC

Current Project: My Fashion line, Neon Hart, and my blog — in between my modeling jobs.
When did you move to the U.S.?
I moved here five years ago from London — I’d always wanted to visit America. We packed up our apartment in London in record time, moved here and never looked back. I actually left Australia when I was 15, went to Japan, then London and Paris, and back to London. I started modeling at 14. I won the Dolly Model Search competition, which landed me a contract with Chadwicks — I left school straight away and bailed. I had no home schooling — I left at 14. I hated school. My mum was just happy I had something to do because she knew I was going to leave.
How did you stay grounded being away from home so young?
I kept my head on straight by travelling. I am close to my family. My sister’s my best friend, and I speak to my mum about five times a week. They’re the important people in my life.
What are you creative inspirations?
Taking photos, designing my fashion line and even my personal styling is my creative outlet — my environment and traveling are my inspiration for that.
What’s your favourite city in the U.S.?
NYC, because it is so multicultural and convenient.
Which two modeling shoots are you most proud of?
Guess Campaign and Sports Illustrated.
What’s a typical shooting day like for you?
If we’re on location it’s usually a very long day. We have to be up really early to have hair and make up done before the sun rises. I change clothes a lot. I’d love to know how many times I’ve changed clothes on shoots!
When you’re not working, what can you be found doing?
Working out, taking photos, updating my blog, watching movies on the couch.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I’m glad I can’t. I hate knowing what’s coming next.
What is your favorite quote?
“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” – Kate Moss.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Pizza and pasta.
Do you have a mentor or hero?
Tell us about the charity you support, “Destiny Rescue.”
It’s an organisation dedicated to stopping and preventing child slavery in third world counties, and setting up safe houses with education and therapy for the victims and their families.
Who are a few fellow Aussie’s you are inspired by?
Vincent Fantauzzo – painter
Michael Angel – designer
Ashley Hart – model
