Five years ago Sydney girls Amelia and Katelyn met in California and in February 2012 set up Komai “a social business driven by creativity for a cause”. Billabout caught up with the duo to talk about their future business plans which will create awareness to grass-root organisations.

Profile: Hugh Evans, Taking the Opportunity to “Kick Arse”
Hugh Evans, the 2004 Young Australian of the Year, is a passionate humanitarian. He recently completed his Masters in International Relations at Cambridge University and now lives between New York and LA, where he runs the Global Poverty Project. The organization is not only committed to raising awareness but also the effectiveness of ordinary people, businesses and governments to end extreme poverty.
Billabout caught up with the driven entrepreneur in his LA office where he apologised for fatigue induced by an impromptu belated birthday jam the night before, which took place in his kitchen with good friends the Hume brothers from band Evermore.
