It’s that time of the year again; the U.S. Green Card lottery! The application period starts Tuesday, October 4 at noon Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and ends on Saturday, November 5 at noon (EDT).
– Don’t leave it to the last minute. The website can become very congested and there can be long delays.
– It is a FREE service, so do not apply through any sites that charge a fee.
– It is easy to enter, but you’ll need a digital (passport type) photo that meets the specifications that they provide.
If you have difficulty getting the photo correct (and you live in New York), go to DOI Camera at 285 Madison Avenue between 40th and 41st. They will give you the picture on a disc so that you can upload it to the application when you are on your computer. They charge $25 +tax. Tell them Zjantelle Cammisa sent you.
