Applications are now open for the fifth annual Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship, which provides an emerging Australian actor with the opportunity to further their career and training in the U.S.This year, Kim Ledger, Heath’s father, has agreed to assume the role of patron of the scholarship to provide strategic oversight. “I am honored the Australians in Film Board and management team have invited me to consider the role of Patron for the Heath Ledger Scholarship,” said Ledger. “Making a start in entertainment can be a tough and unforgiving business in any country. I hope continuing this award with its consequential connections, offers the final recipient a little extra support in their pathway to success.”
The recipient of the primary scholarship will receive US $10,000 in cash, a round-trip ticket to Los Angeles flying Virgin Australia, a one-year scholarship to Stella Adler Acting School in LA, a trip around California for two from Visit California, a Showcast & Breakdown Services VIP casting package, and $5000 worth of visa and immigration services from Raynor and Associates.
Two runners up will receive a round-trip ticket to Los Angeles courtesy of Virgin Australia plus a Showcast VIP casting package.
